This is intended to inform the general public and interested applicants that UNIBEN Diploma application form for admission to the diploma in Maritime and ICT for 2017/2018 academic meeting was announced by the administration of the University of Benin.

UNIBEN DIPLOMA PROGRAMME

Applications are invited from appropriately qualified candidates for admission to the full-time two-year diploma in Maritime Studies, Information, and Communication Technology (ICT) at the University of Benin for the Academic Session of 2017/18.

UNIBEN Diploma Program Application Procedures

The University of Benin, Benin City (UNIBEN), has a center for Maritime Studies, Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This center conducts a two-year full-time diploma in Maritime Studies, Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The course has sufficient professional and academic content to produce workers to promote people skills, capacity building and performance in the seaports, shipping, oil and ICT sectors of the economy for medium and upper management positions.

COURSE BENEFITS

  • Graduates of the Center acquire both academic and practical knowledge to be employed directly in seaports, shipping, oil, customs services and other agencies in the maritime and ICT industries.
  • The Diploma in Maritime Studies and ICT is offered as a direct entrance qualification at the University of Benin in 200 levels for all engineering programs and courses in the Faculty of Natural Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics (Pure and Applied), Industrial Mathematics, Mathematics with Physics, Mathematics with Chemistry, Statistics Computer Science, Physics, Geology and Industrial Physics), Faculty of Educational Sciences (Department of Vocational and Technical Education) and library studies and similar institutions in the country.
  • The program also serves as a capacity building for the academic and professional improvement of persons with congenital maritime culture and tradition.

LECTURE TIMES

Presentations take place from Monday to Friday between the hours of 2:00 and 6:00 pm.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING

Students must complete and maintain three months of professional training between the first and second years of the program.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Credit in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry and other topics at GCE / WASE / SSCE / NABTEB / NECO
City and guilds (part 1) in every area of engineering
A qualification corresponding to one of the above.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Candidates should visit www.uniben.edu, then click waeup Portal and click on Application to initiate the online application process by printing out the registration fee from the sum of N10,000.00 (tens of thousands Naira) and Then proceed with each commercial bank of your choice to make the payment via the Interswitch platform. After that, the candidates are expected to return to the same website to complete their application online.
Candidates should ensure that the forms are clearly filled with all the information required on or before 31 August 2017. An application form that is not properly filled in is not dealt with.

DEADLINE

The acceptance of the application for UNIBEN Diploma programs will end on 31 August 2017.
