ASUU Strike Has Been Called Off: Lecturers To Resume Academic Activities Tomorrow

The Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU strike has been finally called off.

This happens today Thursday 7th, 2019 after the Federal Government and the Union finally reached an agreement.

According to the report, Lecturers are ask to resume academic activities from tomorrow Friday 8th, 2019. This announcement was made on the ASUU official twitter handle;

The strike was called off after a two hour meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.

Ngige said after the meeting that eight areas of disagreements were discussed and agreed upon by the two parties, while expressing gratitude to ASUU leadership for their understanding.

ASUU president, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said lecturers are to resume on Friday, February 8, 2019.
