LASU best graduating student REMILEKUN OREFUNWA wrote the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) seven times before gaining admission into the Lagos state university.
On Yesterday Wednesday, Orefunwa was declared LASU best graduating student of 2015/2016 academic session. of the Lagos with a Cumulative Grade Point Average [CGPA] of 4.74.
Orefunwa, who is pregnant with her first child, was declared the overall LASU best graduating student by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, during the 21st convocation of the institution.
In her remarks, Orefunwa said she had attempted JAMB’s exams up to seven times, “in a bid to gain admission into the university, without success.” She further stated that she had at a point given up, if not for the encouragement given to her by her sister.
“The relentlessness encouragement from my elder sister eventually saw me gaining admission into the University in 2012 to study Accounting Education.”
My success today as the LASU best graduating student is as a result of my sister encouragement and God’s favour in my life.
To all the JAMBITES out there seeking for admission into any higher institution in Nigeria, don’t be discourage because you fail JAMB, instead, keep trying and trying till get it.
